We are hiring for the 2013-14 academic year!

All prospective candidates for employment at Bronx Letters must demonstrate a firm commitment to our theme of writing, a nuanced understanding of the unique developmental needs of adolescents, and the experience necessary to fill the variety of roles required of teachers in small schools.

We have a broad range of positions available for the fall of 2013 in grades 6-12.  We are looking for teachers in both middle and high school in writing, literature, mathematicshistory, science, PE & Healthand special education in all subjects.  We are also looking for guidance counselors, social workers, and community associates who have roots in our community. We also encourage experienced, Bronx-based, and/or Spanish-speaking candidates to apply.

APPLICANTS MUST HAVE:
• Certification to teach in NYC public schools
• Commitment to promoting literacy and post-secondary readiness for every student
• Commitment to building collaborative partnerships with colleagues in a diverse, multicultural workplace
• Excellent command of subject area(s)
• Strong organization, differentiation, and planning skills
• Demonstrated ability to integrate group work, project-based learning, technology, and literacy-building activities into curriculum
• Interest in the leadership opportunities that often occur in the development and growth of a small school
• Willingness to serve as an academic advisor
